It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to my site where you will find information and resources about consultation, educational services, and CIRCLES. The Circles multi-media programs are the iconic and internationally used social boundary program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) co-created with Leslie Walker-Hirsch. For 30 years the programs have been used to teach all aspects of social boundaries, relationships, relationship-building skills, and topics in sex education. Because people with IDD can be concrete thinkers, Circles provides concrete training for people to “see” relationships. They learn at their own pace about intimacy and distance, and touch, talk, and trust in all levels of relationships to help keep them safe and enhance being with people.
I have worked as a therapist specializing in trauma for typical and non-typical learners, and for educational needs surrounding social/sexual boundaries. I have provided training to parents, agencies, administrators, and staff to support them and further their understanding of the needs and desires of this population.
As a member of the American Association of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), I have been named Fellow for meritorious contributions to the agency and field. And in 2020 was awarded National Honors for “having made an overall contribution through public policy by The National Historic Recognition Project 2000-2020.”
You will find more information by exploring the tabs above and inquiries are always welcome!
