Welcome to my website!
On these pages you will find information for teaching individuals with various learning styles about relationships, relationship building skills, changing relationships, and so much more.
CIRCLES® was created as a concrete roadmap of relationships now, relationship building skills, and developed with special education teaching strategies.
Circles Intimacy & Relationships: Level 1, teaches special needs students some extremely abstract concepts in a very simple and concrete manner. The connection between the kind of relationship and the corresponding level of intimacy is demonstrated visually, making it easy for students to understand this important concept.
While it simplifies relationships, as a person becomes skilled, they can quantify the quality of each relationship and the degree of Touch, Talk and Trust for each relationship.
Developed over 40 years ago, CIRCLES® has become the most widely used paradigm to teach the often-abstract concepts of relationships, who belongs where in relation to oneself and empowers individuals to decide on the closeness or distance in personal space.
You will find it has many layers and the more an individual learns about themselves, the more empowered they become to choose friends, make decisions, and increases the likelihood of abuse prevention.

New Circles Intimacy and Relationships for Elementary School Edition.
"We couldn't be more excited to announce the upcoming release of Circles Intimacy and Relationships: Elementary School Edition. The same groundbreaking paradigm used with thousands of young adults across the country has been adapted for elementary school students with special needs! The Circles Program teaches social distance and levels of intimacy through the use of seven color-coded concentric circles.
Starting from the center circle, which represents the self, each new colored circle represents behaviors, feelings, and actions appropriate to the distance from the center of self. "
